Public Works Supervisor Program

The Public Works Supervisor (PWS) program was designed to help public works practitioners advance into management roles by allowing them to identify and obtain education and experience relevant to their career path. This program recognizes both education and work experience of public works practitioners and awards them with a level of recognition matching their experience and education.

The two basic requirements to achieving a level of recognition are Public Works Units (WU) and Public Works Training Units (TU)  (CEU, PDH, or equivalent - if approved CEU or PDH are assigned 10 TU per 1 CEU or PDH)

Public Works Units (WU) must be accrued while working in gaining experience in a Public Works capacity and are equal to 1 week of work experience.

Public Works Training Units (TU) (CEU, PDH, or equivalent) may be accrued from a variety of education providers, including the Saskatchewan Public Works Association. Participants with a diploma or a degree MAY be granted - upon review a maximum of 20 training unit (TU) credits per school year.
