Saskatchewan Public Works Association is proud to announce that we are hosting our Equipment Demo Day and Inaugural Golf Tournament taking place on August 22 and 23, 2014 in North Battleford, SK.
Our Equipment Demo Day is being held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Western Development Museum, and the City Public Works Yard, in North Battleford, SK. We are excited to announce that Industrial Machine Inc. will be presenting their KM 8000T Trailer Mounted Asphalt Hot Box, KM 2-18X Infrared Asphalt Heater, and Road Hog Cold Planer to attendees. A practical session, where the above equipment will perform patching on City streets, will also take place.
Pavement repair is a priority in all of our communities. With the elevated cost of road maintenance, it has become increasingly important to maintain these roads within our limited budgets. Communities are using smaller scale equipment aimed at re-use of asphalt, such as those being demonstrated by our presenter.
We can make our roadways more sustainable with proper care and maintenance, reducing the financial cost to taxpayers. The timely investment in routine maintenance in roads can extend the usable pavement life and provide for a safer road surface. Not only will the road last longer, but repairing a failed road is anywhere from 4 to 9 times more expensive than a routine maintenance program. Attend to learn about the techniques to enhance your community’s pavement repair program.
Following this day full of education on pavement repair, we are getting together for some fun and networking for our inaugural SPWA Golf Tournament being held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the beautiful North Battleford Golf and Country Club. Come and enjoy 18 holes of golf, a delicious steak supper, prizes, and perhaps a few drinks with friends.
